Top 10 favourite employers in Switzerland
We have already seen who are the most favourite employers from the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, England and Italy. This time we look at the top 10 most favourite employers in Switzerland. Google continues to be popular and is once again number 1.
Second place is for Nestlé: the world's largest food company, headquartered in Vevey, Switzerland. Novartis is ranked number three. Novartis is also a Swiss company that mainly produces and sells medicines. Novartis also has its headquarters in Switzerland: Basel.
The most popular Swiss companies are all innovative, international and large in size
No less than two thirds of the top 10 favourite employers come from Switzerland. The other companies all come from America, namely: Google, Apple and Tesla. In this article we will briefly zoom in on the Swiss employers. There are a number of striking features that these companies have as a common denominator. They are all innovative, international and large in size.
Roche, number four in the top 10, is a Swiss pharmaceutical company. The company was the first in the world to manufacture vitamin C preparations on an industrial basis. At number five we find Swisscom, the largest telecommunications supplier in Switzerland. Swisscom consists out of four departments: private customers, small and medium-sized companies, large companies, network and information technology. They dominate a large part of the market in Switzerland. The sixth place is for Migros, the largest retail group. They have various shop and department store formulas.
Investing 1 billion dollars a year in research
The Swiss bank UBS is the world's largest asset manager and number seven of the favourite employers. UBS has a history of more than 140 years. Finally, the ninth place is for Asea Brown Boveri (or ABB),a Swedish-Swiss multinational active in the field of energy and automation. The head office is located in Zurich. ABB invests 1 billion dollars a year in research and development. In this way, ABB positions itself as a leader in the development and improvement of products and systems, in solving energy and efficiency issues.
